They can be wethered anything from 18 mths old and recommended not in wet weather ot very hot wether when wethering.We recommend to bond the alpaca to the group for a couple of days in a smaller paddock, and then once bonded they can go in the large paddock, We have heard nothing but applause for the job alpacas do for guarding stock, and we are told, they definately do save dog /fox attacks and lack of injuries to any young stock. They seem to bond to the animal they run with, and once bonded can be rounded up with the group.
