Future Stud males for sale all prices are GST exclusive...What do we look for when we assess our males as Future Stud Males.
We are very lucky to hve three to four generations from different sires and dams, and from the breeding history we have of each individual alpaca, we can quickly determine how their offspring will devlope.
We also have been very lucky that our stud males, Stefano, Cristiano, El Condor, Patche', Olympic Dream, Conquistador, Old Jamaca, have been so, so consistant, that we know which babies we will be taking to the shows in 2 years time, and they have not even been conceived yet.
Our New stud male's Vallon De'Oro', his progeny are due to hit the ground any day now,(feb 07), and we are so excited, with the advanced attributes he displays.
Parentage has a large part in our dicision making
We always look very closely at their fleeces, histograms do take a huge part of the dicision making. We are constantly watching and taking samples as the fleece devlops of all hopeful male.
We look for SD more in the 3's, and low 4's.
Comf fact, at least for the first 12 mths 100%
We like our microns low, and Cv in the right range to match the micron and SD.
Charachter and style imperative, with fine staples, even high frequency crimp, we can see the charchter of a fleece the day they are born.It is ever so exciting watch these fleeces devlope, and see in front of your eyes, your breeding plans emerge. Handle. our fleeces have a most superb soft handle.
Coverage, to display quality, and improved fleece weights.
Fleece weights are high, most of opur older pregnant females still cutting 3-4 kgs, most of our working males 5.5-6.5 kgs, with our heaviest weight to date 7 kgs.
To obtain these weights, we have to have density, which our males just pump out those fleeces, and pass on thies great attribute.
Stefano now at 18.5 yrs old, still cuts 5.5 kg.
We are proud of the advances we have made through years of intensive breeding.
learning these skilss one by one, from experience.
