When we selected our breeding stock, we always had a vision of our breeding program in mind.
Primarily, we wanted to maximize our returns the quickest way
To do that, we needed the best quality, who were producing the best quality, consistently.
We started off with Stefano, and Cristiano, our two main herdsires.
Both have been so consistent, that even with the lower quality females they have gone over in the past, the quality of their offspring have been far superior.
With the end product always in sight, we wanted to make sure we were breeding what the marketplace wants not now, but in 10 years time.
Ultimately, the marketplace will want, fine, lustrous, crimpy fleece, and plenty of it. So in our selection process, we were looking for males that produced this, and also came from a line that consistently produced it as well. They also had to be dense.
And The highest price of any fibre, is always paid on the finest of micron.
We wanted animals to be producing this, and evenly across the body.
We aim for lack of medulation, and good coverage, and conformation, so that we had a viable sound herd
